CLEANING THE AIRBRUSH 1. Never leave paints in airbrush for any extended period of time when finished painting. Always clean immediately. 2. When finished painting, remove the paint jar from airbrush, and attach spare jar (or thoroughly clean jar in use) containing cleaning material (proper reducer for material being used). Continuously spray material through airbrush, until all residue paints are cleared out of gun. 3. Clean jar again, and spray fresh cleaner through the airbrush "back-washing". This method is achieved by placing a clean soft cloth or rag over tip of gun, forcing the materials back into jar. When all materials are clear, your airbrush is clean. It is not necessary to disassemble your airbrush after each use, and not recommended. A thorough disassembly and cleaning is rarely needed if proper cleaning is done after each use. 4. If the airbrush becomes clogged, it may be necessary to remove the needle, cap, and tip, and clean thoroughly. This problem occurs by using to thick of paint, or letting paint sit in airbrush while not in use. 5. If needed, soak the airbrush overnight
in a 70% water / 30% rubbing alcohol mixture (when using airbrush paints, or
water soluble paints only). After soaking, spray clean solution through airbrush
to remove any remaining loose residue. |
